Ultra HD, also known as 4K, is at the forefront of buzzwords surrounding digital media. We see it on computer monitors, televisions and recording devices. In today’s world of ever-changing technology, it is hard to keep up on the latest advances. To understand ultra-high definition (Ultra HD), let’s begin with understanding its predecessors, standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD). Though Ultra HD technology is the newest member of the digital enhancement world, it is likely to stay for the long haul. Ultra HD produce images that are clear and lifelike, without over magnification. Why should consumers choose to capture and view their images in Ultra HD vs. the expiring HD? Some of us might remember our relatives having super eight films when we were young. The contrast between those films and the VHS tape is how drastic a difference there is between standard HD and Ultra HD images. Twenty years from now, you won’t be disappointed that your media was captured in Ultra HD but you might be if your memories were captured in standard HD.
